St. Pancras International to launch licensing programme
St. Pancras International, the UK’s favourite railway station, will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2018 and manufacturers now have the chance to join what is set to be an iconic London licensing programme. The first licensed products will appear on the St. Pancras International on-line shop in A/W 2016 with an in station pop-up retail presence planned for A/W 2017.
Adam Bass, Director at Golden Goose, the company now exclusively appointed as St. Pancras International’s licensing agency said, “St. Pancras International welcomes 48 million visitors a year,. Moreover, the average visitor spends 40 minutes in this iconic London destination.” He added, “we’re delighted to be developing licensed products and partnerships inspired by St. Pancras International. These products will represent the best of modern Britain and this iconic London landmark.”
With the restoration of St. Pancras International responsible for the regeneration of an area that is now home to Google’s European HQ and Central St. Martins, there is a massive affection and admiration for the award-winning station from visitors who clearly enjoy the station’s retail environment.
Wendy Spinks, the Commercial Director of HS1 Ltd, the company that owns and operates St Pancras International, said “40% of our visitors buy something from our retail partners.” She continued, “As the nation’s favourite railway station we know there is demand from our visitors for St. Pancras International products. Every day we welcome many Eurostar travellers, who enjoy the station’s unique shopping experience. However we also get a lot of custom from commuters and locals – those every day shoppers who live and work in this vibrant area and see the station as a destination in its own right. The 150th anniversary provides us with a showcase to launch retail products as part of a long-term and sustainable licensing programme.“
